imagesBrtníky is an oblong but not a very large village situated in the valley of the Brtnický potok (Brtníky Brook) on the northern edge of the Národní park České Śvýcarsko (Bohemian Switzerland National Park) near the towns of Rumburk and Krásná Lípa. According to the administrative structuring, Brtníky belongs to the five-kilometre-far village of Staré Křečany in the County of Děčín, Ústecký Region. It lies in the high of 415-430 m above sea level.

For its situation near the border line with Germany Brtniky is the starting point of the tourist routes and paths leading to the Bohemian Switzerland National Park as well as to the Saxon Switzerland National Park, to the Šluknovská pahorkatina (Šluknov Hilly Land) and to the Lužické hory (Luž Mountains).
